Dear GAP Forum members,

We invite you to participate in a survey about the use of mathematical software in education, including training of professional researchers.

More specifically, we are collecting information about the use of GAP (https://www.gap-system.org/), directly or via SageMath (https://https//www.sagemath.org/; also known as Sage), and via CoCalc (https://cocalc.com/; formerly known as SageMathCloud) in teaching mathematics, computer science and other disciplines for the purposes of the impact case study for REF 2021 (https://www.ref.ac.uk/).

If you have used any of the mentioned software systems in teaching, we would be very grateful if you could let us know about this by filling in the survey, which is available at the following link:

    https://bit.ly/mse-survey

The survey contains 12 questions. You are free to omit any question not marked as required; in particular, you will not have to give any personal details if you don't want to. It is anticipated to take up between 5 and 15 minutes, and your time will be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions about the survey, please email Alexander Konovalov at alexander.konovalov at st-andrews.ac.uk.

In addition, please help us to spread information about this survey, and send the link to this survey to anyone you know who may be using the tools mentioned above in their teaching.

Thank you in advance!

Best wishes,
Steve Linton & Alexander Konovalov
(University of St Andrews)
