Dear Jaco,
I can't comment on Guava's functionality, but assuming that, say,
you can do what you want in Guava by copying and pasting, and your
question is about automation of the calculation and getting the
result back into Matlab, then the answer is likely yes, using pipes
or SCSCP protocol. Please see

Specifically, since Matlab now includes MuPAD, you can use MuPAD
OpenMath package to communicate with the GAP SCSCP server, see
http://mupad.symcomp.org/
