Thank you very much for this report (and the feedback by other users).
I can exactly reproduce the problem with various versions of GAP, 32- and
64-bit systems, with and without packages. Therefore I hope that it is not
too difficult to locate the bug. We will investigate the problem and let you
know when we have fixed it.
