I have a nicely bound version of the GAP documentation for version
3.2. I've just obtained version 3.4 and have heard that the documentation
is now over 1000 pages. In order to save some trees, is it possible to
get an idea of where the new material is and what chapters are worth
printing out to replace the former version.
The manual has changed quite a bit, as you can see from the following
listing. It lists for each of the manual '.tex' files how many lines
changed in this file (note that each file corresponds to a chapter).
Each '+' in the bar charts corresponds to roughly 70 added lines,
each '-' corresponds to roughly 70 deleted lines.

The lines with 'N' correspond to the 8 new chapters for library stuff
(Algebraic extensions of fields, Special Ag Groups, Algebras, Finitely
Presented Algebras, Matrix Algebras, Modules, Class Functions,
Monomiality Questions) and the 8 new chapters for contributed packages
(Chomology, DCE, GRAPE, Guava, Meataxe, Sisyphos, Smash, and Vector
enumerator).
Hope this helps,
Martin.
