Dear Colleagues,
With regret I have to tell you that I have mislead you again by my
optimism, we will postpone the release of 3.4 by at least one
week. The reason is that we want to use the opportunity of having Akos
Seress here in Aachen to bind into GAP 3.4 some of his higly efficient
random methods for permutation groups (in particular for high
degrees), and to do this in a way that makes transparent to the user
whether he uses deterministic or random methods. I hope that the gain
of getting a better GAP will make good for any inconvenience I may
have caused you if you relied on my predictions about the release
date.
With apologies Joachim Neubueser
