Dear GAP Forum,

As some of you will have noticed, all St Andrews based GAP services: the
forum; gap-trouble; the master Web site; FTP and various developers' services
have been unavailable for the last four or five days.

This was due to restructuring of the university's network in this area, and
relocation of many servers, complicated by a variety of technical problems and
some equipment failures. The work was scheduled to be completed last weekend,
but overran.

Now (Wednesday afternoon) everything appears to be working again, although
some changes may take a day or so to propagate through the DNS, so may not
have reached everybody. There may be further brief interruptions, but no
substantial loss of service is expected.

We apologize for the inconvenience.
