We are wanting to use GAP for calculations, and pipeline the results to
Mathematica for graphical analysis. I am getting ready to begin working on
this, and just wanted to see if it wasn't already out there somewhere.

If there exist any other "linking" programs for GAP and other applications,
that would be helpful also.

I have recently been doing some calculations with GAP in conjunction
with Maple V. I did this by running GAP under Emacs under OS/2 and the
Windows version of Maple V at the same time (OS/2 can run Windows
programs). I then used the clipboard to cut/paste any relevant data
between GAP and Maple.

The trick here is running GAP under Emacs. That way I have all GAP
output in an Emacs buffer and can transfer large regions (greater than
a screenful) to the clipboard.

I know this procedure is not quite as automatic as you might like, but
it'll get you going.
