^ Subject: Bug in the ANUPQ package

Dear GAP-Forum,

we would like to advise those GAP users who use the ANUPQ package that we
are aware of a dangerous bug in the function PqDescendant(). The effect of
the bug can be that the result returned by PqDescendant() is wrong and no
indication is given that the result is incorrect. Therefore, users
working with PqDescendant() are advised to interpret the results returned
by this function with utmost care.

The bug is located in the GAP routines that form the interface to the
underlying ANUPQ standalone program. It is *not* located in the
standalone program itself and does *not* affect the reliability of the
ANUPQ program.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We are working on a
fix for this bug.

With kind regards,
Werner Nickel.
