Dear GAP-Forum,

is it possible to increase the input buffer of GAP beyond the 8000
characters? When debugging I like to paste in code from an editor
window. When I do this with little more than a dozen lines, GAP
beeps angrily. And so I often have to paste in routines in three
or four pieces. As the file often contains other code fragments,
perhaps a second version of the same routine, I don't want to
read in the whole file. I think I'd like an input buffer at least
5 times as big as it is now...
