< ^ Subject: Re: a bug in MatRingOps.IsUnit

Dear Mrs. and Mr. Forum,

yesterday Laurent Bartholdi wrote about three topics.

The first was a bug report, concerning 'MatRingOps.IsUnit'.
This bug will be fixed in GAP-3.4.

Secondly, Laurent asked how to construct quotient rings.
Unfortunately such structures are not supported in GAP-3.3, also
GAP-3.4 will not yet contain the possibility to form ideals and
quotient rings.

Thirdly, Laurent told about the following problem.

I also have a problem with the OS/2 version and emacs. the online help does
not work, i think because of some redirections.

The observation is right, both online help and command line editing
do not work in the case that GAP recognizes that it does not get its
input from a terminal, and such a case of input redirection occurs
when GAP is started from within emacs under OS/2.

Kind regards
Thomas
